The Oscars were celebrated locally on both sides of the river on Sunday night. In Boston, the big event was the Ellie Fund’s viewing party at the Mandarin Oriental, which drew a black-tie crowd and a guest list that included Mark Wahlberg’s chef brother Paul Wahlberg, Channel 5’s Susan Wornick, Celtics physician Brian McKeon, Channel 5 traffic reporter Dorothy Krysiuk, and Kim Jacobs, wife of Bruins VP Charlie Jacobs. Across the river, the Brattle Theatre screened the Academy Awards ceremony like it was a movie. On hand for the event were Brattle Film Foundation Board President Larry Yu, board member Roger Fussa, and Allston movie fan Liz Donovan, who proclaimed that she was the night’s best actress and joked, “I did it for the fans — the oscillating fans.”
