More than 500 people packed into the Revere Hotel in downtown Boston for the 2012 Top Places to Work awards reception on Thursday night. This year, more than 300 organizations were considered for the honor. A new category was also added to include organizations with 50 to 99 employees. It’s also the fifth year for the Globe’s Top Places magazine, and 23 companies have made the list each year since.
