K Casey Cook , Beverly – The Panthers made a Cinderella-type run to a Division 1 North championship, and Cook was the backbone support that made it all hold up in the end. A junior midfielder by trade, she stepped between the pipes in the postseason to lead Beverly to its first sectional title, posting two shutouts and a shootout victory in the final versus previously unbeaten Central Catholic, when she stopped 19 shots in regulation.

“Casey can be a crazy lady out there. She has an immediate impact, and she wins everything,” said Beverly coach Kristin Simpson. “She’s a tremendous field player. I wish I could split Casey in half.”

In five postseason games in net, Cook allowed only five goals.
