Jones struck a defiant pose during the hearing, making obscene gestures toward the media and sticking out her tongue. Defense attorney Alyssa Pelletier entered a not-guilty plea on her behalf.

Police responded at about 4:05 p.m. Monday to Boston Medical Center, where the victim said she was contacted by cellphone to meet Daquan Sparks, 17, on Midland Street near the station. The victim said Sparks met her there and restrained her while Jones attacked.

The victim sustained stab wounds to the torso, face, right leg, and back, according to a police report filed in the case.

The stab wounds punctured her spleen and liver, Assistant District Attorney Brian Brodigan said. Sparks also has a 4-month-old child with Jones.

Detectives plan to seek an arrest warrant for Sparks, the police report said.
