When the teams met in Boston on June 4, the Red Sox pounded Texas starter Justin Grimm for 8 runs in 1 2/3 innings en route to a 17-5 slaughter of the Rangers. In the final regular season showdown with the Rangers, David Ortiz was the star when he launched a three-run walkoff homer to give the Sox a come from behind 6-3 victory.

Jon Lester led the Red Sox with 11 strikeouts in 12 innings against Texas to go along with a 4.50 ERA in two starts. John Lackey had a 3.27 ERA in his two starts. Ryan Dempster was the only Sox starter to pick up a win against the Rangers in 2013.
