A federal judge has set a February 2015 sentencing trial date for Gary Lee Sampson, who faces the death penalty for killing three people within a week in 2001.

US District Court Senior Judge Mark L. Wolf said at a hearing this morning that he was confident that defense lawyers had received enough information about the history of the case, and that no significant legal issues would arise before the trial.

“It’s going to be important to work toward that date, and I know the parties will,” the judge said.
