PornHub’s Insights blog (mostly SFW) found that, on average, liberal-leaning states tend to watch more online pornography than their conservative counterparts. In fact, out of the top ten states on the list, only two voted for Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

But there are surprises in the data, too. For example: The state with the largest per capita consumption is Kansas, by a nearly 15 percent increase over second-place holder Nevada.

In our neck of the woods, New England is fairly low despite its mostly liberal reputation—as a region, its per capita level of consumption matches that of the average red state.

Individually, New Hampshire rings in at the 19th level of consumption in the union, with Rhode Island close behind at 20. Connecticut is the next New England state at 27, with Vermont at 37 and Maine at 43—the lowest level of consumption of any blue state in the country.

Massachusetts though? Not so much: Congratulations, the Bay State is reportedly the fifth largest consumer of online erotica in the United States.
