Harris Public Safety and Communications, a Chelmsford-based unit of Harris Corp., said it has received a $23.6 million contract from Floyd County, Ga., to deploy a digital radio system.

The ten-site system will provide voice and data communications to first responders, and enable them to interact with local, state, and federal agencies across the county, the company said.

Headquartered in Florida, Harris Corp. is a communications and information technology company.
