Abine closes $5.2m funding round

Abine Inc. announced the closing of a $5.2 million Series A round of funding.

The Cambridge company offers such online consumer privacy and security products as Do Not Track Plus and DeleteMe.

Atlas Venture and General Catalyst are co-leading Abine’s Series A financing, Abine said. Both Atlas Venture and General Catalyst have offices in Cambridge.

Abine’s press release included a statement from General Catalyst partner David Orfao, who said, “Abine’s creating the one-stop shop for consumer online privacy, much like Symantec and McAfee have become today for Internet security.”
