Nuance Communications Inc., a Burlington company known for such speech recognition products as Dragon Naturally Speaking, said it has bought Webmedx, an Atlanta company specializing in medical transcription services.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition will strengthen and expand Nuance’s existing portfolio of speech recognition and transcription products and services it offers to clinics and hospitals, Nuance said in a press release.
