Black Duck Software signs lease to relocate to Burlington
Black Duck Software, which helps companies manage the use of open-source software, has signed a new lease to relocate its offices from Waltham to New England Executive Park in Burlington, said a broker involved in the transaction.
The broker is Colliers International, and it represented the park’s landlord, Equity Office, in the lease negotiations. T3 Advisors represented Black Duck.
Plans call for Black Duck to relocate its headquarters from Waltham to nearly 30,000 square feet of space in New England Executive Park in December, said Colliers International, adding that the new lease represents a nearly 13,000 square-foot expansion for the firm.
Last month, Black Duck Software announced that it had closed a $12 million round of funding, bring the total amount of money it has raised so far to $46 million. At that time, the company had a headcount of roughly 150 employees.
Colliers International also noted that COMSOL Inc., an engineering company that provides software for multiphysics modeling, renewed and expanded its lease to 27,159 square feet at New England Executive Park.
The park is made up of 13 building with 1.25-million square feet of space. Amenities include a conference center, a full-service cafeteria, a health club, and a day-care facility.
New England Executive Park is now 90 percent leased, Colliers International said.
