Napping: Best done while swinging
Have you ever heard the expression “rock yourself to sleep?” Well, researchers at the University of Geneva decided to test it out. They asked 12 people who don’t normally nap or who have sleeping problems to take two 45-minute naps a day, one in a stationary bed and another in a gently rocking hammock. In every case, participants fell asleep more quickly while in motion. The study was published in the journal Current Biology last month.
