Weekend shootings claim two lives in Boston
A man has died after being shot on a Dorchester street Sunday night, one of two people slain in the city this weekend, Boston police said today.
The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
He was shot near the intersection of East Cottage and Sumner streets about 9:20 p.m. Sunday.
No further information about the murder was available today. The shooting is under investigation by homicide detectives.
On Saturday, shortly before 11 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot near Eustis and Dearborn streets in Roxbury. The victim made his way to Boston Medical Center on his own, but efforts to save him were unsuccessful. Police said he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
His identity is also being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
