A man allegedly assaulted one Boston firefighter and attempted to assault another on Saturday night, according to Boston police.
When Boston firefighters responded to a water leak near Huntington Avenue and Gainsborough Street, they were told that a disorderly man was outside, police said. Eric French, 47, of Boston, approached the firefighters, punched one with a closed fist and tried to hit another with a glass bottle, police said.
Several firefighters tried to restrain French until police arrived. French was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a public servant, and being a disorderly person.
