Two charged in armed Newton house break

Two Waltham men face armed burglary and related charges for allegedly robbing a West Newton house this morning that had already been robbed on Monday.

Vincenzo Paul Alonge, 22, of Lauricella Lane in Waltham, and Richard Edward Siciliano, 29, of Wamsutta Avenue, also in Waltham, were arrested today after police allegedly tracked their getaway vehicle, Lieutenant Bruce Apotheker, a Newton police spokesman, said in a statement.

Alonge and Siciliano face charges of armed burglary, use of a firearm in a felony, and carrying a firearm without a license. Alonge faces an additional charge of drug possession.

The Harvey Place resident, whose name was not released, came home early this morning to the find two armed men robbing his house. When approaching the house at around 2 a.m., he found a chair under his bathroom window. He went inside and heard people rummaging through one of his rooms, Apotheker said

The resident went outside and called 911 on his cell phone. The two suspects came outside, wearing black skeleton masks, and one of them pointed a silver handgun at the resident, before both suspects got into a Blue Chevrolet Trailblazer and fled, according to Apothekar.

Newton police quickly found the getaway vehicle and stopped it on Arapahoe Road after it ran a red light at Washington Street and Commonwealth Avenue, Apotheker said.

According to Apotheker, the same house was also robbed on Monday. The suspects have not been charged with that robbery, but Apotheker said both cases remain under investigation.

Police recovered a silver handgun and mask on the roadway that they believe the suspects tossed.
