A 20-year-old man was riding a bicycle this afternoon in Roxbury when he was struck by a car and then shot by the occupants of the car, Boston police said, citing a preliminary investigation.

The incident was reported at 12:30 p.m. on Harold Street. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said in a statement.

Police asked for the public’s help in locating the car and its occupants. The car has been described as possibly a gray Prius.

Police asked anyone with information to call District B-2 detectives at 617-343-4275. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact 1-800-494-TIPS or text the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
