Police investigate after arrow is shot through window of Barnstable home
In a harrowing incident for a Barnstable family, someone shot an arrow through the window of a home there Wednesday night.
The arrow flew through the window and into the back of a television in a Marstons Mills-area home, and was probably shot while someone was driving by in a car at about midnight, said Barnstable police Sergeant Sean Sweeney.
However, 56-year-old Jeffrey Perry, who lives in the Barberry Lane home, thought that it wasn’t just an accident -- someone was trying to intimidate him.
“I have a really strong strong feeling it’s a person I’m going to court with,” Perry said today in a telephone interview. He was in bed when the arrow went through his bedroom window and said it sounded like a gunshot. He yelled to his 9-year-old daughter in the next room and his cousin who was visiting to “hit the floor.” Once he grabbed a flashflight, Perry saw the arrow.
“My little girl never even woke up,” he said.
Sweeney speculated that the shooter was not trying to impale Perry, but probably just wanted to scare him.
Perry said he did not plan to confront the man who he believes did it. Police “do their job well, they’ll take care of it,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing.
