Boston police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect in the November slaying of two sisters in Dorchester.

Jean Weevens Janvier, 30, of Dorchester is being sought in the fatal shooting of Stephanie Emile, 21, and Judith Emile, 23, Boston police said.

After an investigation by police and prosecutors that included numerous interviews and recovery of forensic evidence, investigators believe Janvier was the “person responsible” for the slayings and an arrest warrant has been issued for him, police said.

The Emile sisters were found at 9:16 a.m. on Nov. 14 at 50 Harlem St.

Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll had no comment on the exact relationship between the two sisters and Janvier, but said the three “were known to one another” and the incident was not considered random.

Police asked anyone with information to call the homicide unit at 617-343-4470. Those wanting to assist anonymously can call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or text the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
