State Police seek driver who allegedly eluded pursuit, threw ‘white objects’ from window
State Police are looking for a man who eluded troopers who attempted to pull him over Wednesday afternoon in Marion.
State Police tried to stop a car traveling east on Interstate 195 in Marion at around 2 p.m., but the vehicle “ignored the cruiser’s lights and siren,” and sped up, State Police said.
While officers pursued the car at about 95 miles per hour, someone inside the car threw “white objects” out of the window. State Police said the objects were not recovered.
When the car got off the highway at Route 105, the troopers ended the pursuit in the interest of public safety.
Wareham police told State Police they were familiar with the vehicle and it was usually associated with a 33-year-old Wareham man. Just after 3 p.m., Wareham police stopped and held the car until State Police could respond to interview the driver. Troopers interviewed the driver, a 53-year-old Carver woman, and determined she was not the driver who fled the initial stop.
The car was towed pending an investigation, State Police said.
