Woman arrested for allegedly passing counterfeit bills at Boston strip club

Police arrested a Beverly woman Friday night after she allegedly tried to give a bartender counterfeit bills at the Glass Slipper, a strip club in Chinatown.
Danette Lewis, 23, gave the bartender at the Glass Slipper, 15 LaGrange St., five $20 bills, all with the same serial number, and asked for a $100 bill in return, police said. The club’s owner called police, who found Lewis sitting at the bar and arrested her around 12:30 a.m. this morning.
Lewis was charged with possession of counterfeit notes and uttering or publishing false writings.
