Rob Delaney skewers Matt Damon

Rob Delaney has a message for Matt Damon: Relax, you sissy. Delaney, a Boston-bred comic who surely ranks among the funniest people on Twitter, has had it with Damon bad-mouthing President Obama. The latest example is an interview with Elle, in which Damon said he’s disappointed by Obama’s ineffectual performance. “You know, a one-term president with some [expletive] who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better,” the left-leaning actor lamented. “I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician.’” That, it seems, was more than Delaney could bear. He tweeted “with respect to my fellow Bostonian Matt Damon” and then linked to a rather pointed post on his own blog. “My least favorite people (at this second) are people who feel Obama ‘let them down,’” Delaney writes at robdelaney.tumblr.com. “’HOPE’ was a one-syllable slogan, a logo even, to get a corporate-backed, big D Democrat elected in a cash contest.” But, wait, it gets better. “The Republican party is composed almost exclusively of actual psychos and morons, while the Democratic party is maybe 65% psycho/moron,” Delaney writes. “Step out of your current fantasy chamber and enter another where the House Republicans who embarrassed the nation with their manufactured debt crisis are tasked with responding to a 9/11-level nightmare. Imagine, too, that one of them now occupies the Oval Office. Soak that up for a minute.” Delaney concludes with a shot aimed right at Damon’s nether region: “Obama let you down? Blow it out your [expletive]. He’s a multi-millionaire career politician who doesn’t know you exist, you sissy, but he might be the reason your grandkids have health insurance.”
