Bruind defenseman chats with Perkins students. Goalball players must wear occulders to block out even the slightest vision to ensure fair play. (Handout)
Bruins Andrew Ference and Chris Kelly paid a visit to Perkins School for the Blind for a game of goalball, a floor-hockey style game played using hearing and touch. (A goalball with bells inside is rolled across the floor, and defenders have to locate the ball by sound.) The B’s goalball outing was pay back for the Feb. 2 Bruins game attended by 14 Perkins students.
