“A Dangerous Method” star Viggo Mortensen has been named the recipient of the 2012 Coolidge Award, a film honor that in past years has gone to Meryl Streep and Oscar-winning film editor Thelma Schoonmaker. Mortensen, whose credits include “A History of Violence,” “Eastern Promises,” the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, and the upcoming adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road,” in which he’ll co-star with Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst, will be in town to accept the honor on March 5. We hear that the Coolidge will play all of the LOTR movies in anticipation of his arrival.
