Blessed with a voice called "warm and satisfying" by JazzTimes, Ms. Williamson's sensitive interpretations and fluent scat style have earned her a Boston magazine Best of Boston® accolade and several Boston Music Award nominations. She returns to the R with vibist (and ex-Bostonian) Smith, who now graces the New York scene, as well as Jason Hunter (sax), Mark Shilansky (p), Keala Kaumeheiwa (b), Ron Savage (dm) and Kera Washington (perc).

The Duke Robillard Band

Inspired by blues legends like T-Bone Walker and Big Joe Turner and called "one of the great players" by B. B. King, guitarist Robillard (a Roomful of Blues alum) has recorded over a dozen albums as a leader and has worked with Bob Dylan, Jay McShann and Pinetop Perkins. His latest CD is Living with the Blues, on Stony Plain. He will make his R debut with his quintet, which features a driving horn section.

The Luciana Souza Quartet featuring Bruce Barth

Grammy-nominated vocalist Souza, who was a New York Times Top 10 Critics' Choice for the past three years, assembled three all-star rhythm sections to record her latest Sunnyside CD, Standards North and South, and now returns to the R with a rhythm section anchored by pianist Barth to celebrate its release.

The Nando Michelin Quartet with Jerry Bergonzi, Fernando Huergo & Jeff Ballard

Pianist Michelin brings in an all-star band with saxist Begonzi, bassist Huergo and drummer Ballard to celebrate his new Doubletime CD, When Einstein Drinks.

Titilayo

Singer/songwriter Titilayo, a Dorchester native who worked in Boston under her full name (Titilayo Ngwenya) before she transplanted to New York City, has recorded her second CD, Goliath, on Cloud 9. Called "a singer of imagination, wit and intelligence" by Billboard, she returns to the Regattabar with her sextet to celebrate its release.

The Chiara Civello Quartet

Vocalist Civello, who has been nominated in the Boston Music Awards every year since 1999, has moved to New York where she continues to perform, as well as at festivals around the world. She returns to the R to celebrate her recent signing with Verve-and, if the fates permit, her new CD.
