The bad, the worse, and the ugly

The Museum of Bad Art describes itself as "a unique institution dedicated to the celebration of artistic effort, however misguided." The celebration of the misguided continues with the release of "Museum of Bad Art: Masterworks," a hardcover catalog of more than 70 pieces from the Dedham museum's extensive collection. Imagine the lively conversations you could have if you whipped out the small book at a party and asked for opinions on tacky works such as "Charlie and Sheba" (above) or "Key to the City " (both by anonymous artists). The book hits Barnes & Noble, Museum of Fine Arts, New England Mobile Book Fair, and other stores tomorrow and is available online. $14.95. museumofbadart.com
