DVDS - TV
Jericho, Complete Series
A kind of the-end-of-the-world soap opera in which "E pluribus unum" becomes "Trust No One," the CBS series "Jericho" had all the trappings of a cult hit - low ratings but a devoted following that saved the show from cancellation after the first season. (The effort faltered after the second season.) The show revolves around the small Kansas town of Jericho, which seems to have survived a nuclear attack that devastated other American cities. The eight-disc set has loads of commentaries and deleted scenes.

My Brightest Diamond
A Thousand Shark's Teeth (ASTHMATIC KITTY)
Shara Worden's beguiling voice and multi-instrumentalist talents combine in a kaleidoscope mix of pop, string quartet, avant-garde rock, and cabaret for her second full-length studio album. The daughter of a national accordion champion who has a degree in opera from the University of North Texas, Worden has been active in the New York rock club scene and later toured with the Decemberists and Sufjan Stevens. "A Thousand Shark's Teeth" seems to point in a hundred directions musically.

Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit
Xbox 360, Playstation 3 (Atari)
The classic game, which helped introduce American gamers to the graphic style of anime/Manga, now comes to the next-generation consoles with the new action and fast-pace battles. Enhanced graphics are complemented by online functionality and energized fighting options.

Books - Memoir
Undiscovered
Debra Winger (Simon & Schuster)
Debra Winger's screen resume may be on the light side, but the intense actress has had some of the meatiest roles ("Terms of Endearment," "Urban Cowboy," "The Sheltering Sky," "Black Widow") in American cinema. In her first book, Winger describes a life that was not centered in Hollywood, a trait that may have helped to give her work emotional depth.
