The Ford Hall Forum promotes freedom of speech and informed citizenry through its free lecture series, and tonight’s speakers are a perfect example of how it’s done. Lawyer, social critic, and former ACLU national board member Wendy Kaminer, along with Peter Kadzis from the Boston Phoenix, will discuss dissent, free speech, and the reasons organizations forget these principles. There will be an open discussion and signing of Kaminer’s book “Worst Instincts: Cowardice, Conformity, and the ACLU.’’ 6:30-8 p.m. Free. C. Walsh Theatre at Suffolk University, 55 Temple St., Boston. 617-557-2007. www.fordhallforum.org
