The Five-Foot Shelf -- 1

This morning I broke down and put Granddad's "Five-Foot Shelf" in the attic. It should be OK for the winter, at least. It's cool and dry now, and mildew won't get to the books, which are packed in three cardboard boxes from the liquor store. Mice make their presence known up there from time to time, but what would they want with a Harvard education?
