"Exit Ghost,'' which Philip Roth has said will be his last Nathan Zuckerman novel, has been sold to Houghton Mifflin for publication next October. In this ninth Zuckerman novel, Roth's alter ego goes back to New York after living in western Massachusetts for many years. His publisher called the forthcoming novel a "portrait of the artist as an old man.''

Roth has won the Pulitzer and the National Book Award and news of his latest book even made the Turkish Daily News.
