As my colleague David Mehegan notes below, literature prizes in the US tend not to be as generous as those in other countries. But there are some exceptions to the rule: Yale University has awarded the $100,000 Bollingen Prize in American Poetry to Frank Bidart, who teaches at Wellesley College (which kindly posted two of his poems below the announcement of the prize.
