Oprah Winfrey's new choice for Oprah's Book Club is Jeffery Eugenides's novel, "Middlesex," which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2003. Winfrey came to regret her 2006 choice of James Frey's "A Million Little Pieces" after the memoir turned out to be largely fictionalized, but she has been very careful lately to pick unimpeachable authors, such as Cormac McCarthy and Sidney Poitier.
