A new dimension to "Puff the Magic Dragon''

The new "Puff the Magic Dragon'' was the top-selling children's picture book in New England last week, according to Barnes & Noble. It looks lovely, but you have to wonder how many ex-hippies are buying it for their children as a way to recapture a time that is now long ago and far away. Not that there's anything wrong with that. At any rate, the book definitely has crossover appeal.
If you want to see Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary) and his daughter Bethany perform "Puff" and other songs at noon on Aug. 18 at the Brattle Theatre, hurry over to the Harvard Coop to pick up free tickets (Limit two per person).
