Much-needed help for local authors

Fresh from the Globe's regional editions come two tales about local writers:

-- Authors are rallying for novelist Patry Francis, a Brockton native who was diagnosed last fall with cancer and unable to promote her new book. They're using their own blogs to help promote the title. Here's the link.
