Back Pages Books is hosting a Bloomsday* Benefit Party at 6 p.m. Monday, June 16, at its store and the adjoining gallery space at 289 Moody St., Waltham.

Members of the Reagle Players will read from Molly Bloom's soliloquy and there will be live Irish music with P. J. Mulvaney, Elisabeth Carter, Jimmy Marshall, Elizabeth Rowe, Jesse Hayes, and Liz Teutsch and Friends. Food and drink is being donated by local restaurants and works by local artists will be auctioned off.

Back Pages Books recently celebrated its third anniversary but it's struggling to survive. As Jennifer Rose, a Waltham poet and one of the event organizers, said, "We'd rather commemorate Bloomsday than Doomsday."

Tickets are $50 and are available at the store and online. To purchase tickets by phone or for more information, call 781-788-9988.

* James Joyce's novel "Ulysses," which chronicles one day in the life of Leopold and Molly Bloom, takes place on June 16, now known as "Bloomsday."
