After Henry

Henry David Thoreau is often identified with the importance of wildness and nature, although he was not a naturalist per se. Now his example and authority are called upon in a publishing project co-sponsored by Penguin Classics and the Union of Concerned Scientists.
For an online (and printed) anthology called, "Thoreau's Legacy: American Stories About Global Warming," the project invites writers to submit 200-500 word essays -- and photographers their pictures -- on the dangers of climate change. Submissions are supposed to be in by Nov. 15, for publication next year. Participants who are accepted will receive a printed copy. Details on participation are here.
