Harvard historian Neill Ferguson has a new book, "The Ascent of Money," that traces how currency, markets, and insurance developed over time to dominate the global economy. Ferguson, who's also a British intellectual and a conservative columnist, speaks at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Harvard Book Store, 1256 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge.
