Top 5 books on religion

Posted by Jan Gardner December 19, 2008 07:33 AM

It's no surprise that Rick Warren's latest book is up near the top of the list (right below the self-published novel that's been a best-seller for much of this year). President-elect Barack Obama this week selected Warren, an evangelical minister and an opponent of same-sex marriage, to give the invocation at his inauguration next month. Warren has written a number of best-sellers, including "The Purpose Driven Life."

1. "Shack," by William P. Young (Windblown Media, paperback)
2. "The Purpose of Christmas," by Rick Warren (Simon & Schuster, hardcover)
3. "Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets," by Jon and Kate Gosselin and Beth Carson (Zondervan, hardcover)
4. "Christmas Jars," by Jason Wright (Deseret Book Company, hardcover)
5. "Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment," by Deepak Chopra (HarperCollins/HarperOne, hardcover)
