Cozy corner on Beacon Hill

Posted by Jan Gardner January 14, 2009 11:04 AM

The Athenaeum is such a lovely place to be on a wintry day, especially when the sun is streaming through the tall windows. The list of upcoming talks and readings is worth checking out.

There are poetry readings at noon on the first Wednesday of the month. David Gergen kicks off a lecture series on Feb. 11. The topic on March 12 is the Chinese in Boston, 1870-1965. On May 5, Anne Fadiman, former editor of the American Scholar, will talk about reading, writing, and editing.

The readings and talks are free and open to the public, though reservations are required for the talks.
