Chocolate and the dream of book clubs

Having been in a number of book clubs over the years, I know that how to deal with members who don't read the book is a perennial issue. Come down hard? Look the other way? Try shame? What?

Well, there looks to be one book club that has the problem licked. As reported in the latest newsletter of Bear Pond Books in Monpelier, Vt., the Chocolate Hounds Literary Guild has a simple rule: If you haven't finished the book, you have to bring chocolate to the meeting. Sounds good to me.
