Alternate endings for Harry Potter
Teens predict Harry's fate

Before the final battle, Harry will find and destroy all of the Horcruxes -- the pieces of Voldemort's soul placed inside objects. The battle will take place in the Department of Mysteries, by the veil that Sirius Black fell through.

Here's why: On the cover of Book 7, Harry appears to be standing in a coliseum, and Book 5 says that the veil occupies an ante-chamber of Greek or Roman descent. Harry and Voldemort will battle until neither has much strength left.

The prophecy says that "Neither can live while the other survives." Most people believe this means that Harry and Voldemort both die, but I disagree. I think that Harry will die, and Voldemort would not truly be living after his Horcruxes have been destroyed, because he will have a maimed soul. I think that's what J.K. Rowling means by saying that neither can live while the other survives.
