Here's Johnny

Allisonn Molloy's no artist. But the Brandeis junior was pretty pleased with the picture she painted of her favorite Bosox player, Johnny Damon. So proud, in fact, that Molloy, who lives in North Hatfield, schlepped the piece up to Cooperstown, N.Y., where the Sox were playing in the Hall of Fame game this spring. (The 5-foot-tall portrait, painted from a picture Molloy saw in Sports Illustrated, shows Johnny at his hairiest.) ''We were standing there on the parade route, and Johnny went by in a trolley," says Molloy, who's majoring in Russian and English. ''I handed the painting to him, and he smiled." She can't be sure if it's true, but Molloy's been told that No. 18 actually hung the piece in his Boston pad.

A record season

On the day before a critical start versus the Yanks, Bronson Arroyo was a busy boy. The pitcher promoted his new CD, ''Covering the Bases," on KISS 108, treating morning host Matt Siegel's listeners to a version of ''Shimmer" by Fuel. From there, he went to the Best Buy near the ballpark for a CD signing, and finally the gig last night at Avalon. For the team's sake, let's hope he got some sleep.

Auto magnate Ernie Boch Jr. hosted a big-ticket fund-raiser at the Norwood Airport for Governor Mitt Romney and his lieutenant, Kerry Healey.

Down on the farm

Most brides and their families sweat the details of finding the right spot. But when Julie Belkin of Weston marries Michael Rand this weekend, the reception on Lookout Farm in Natick comes courtesy of her father's deal making -- and the town of Natick is celebrating right along with them. That's because Steve Belkin's purchase of the 200-acre historic farm means that it will continue to be designated for agricultural and community use rather than being turned into a housing development. Town administrator Philip Lemnios called Belkin, founder of the Trans National Group, a ''white knight." But back to the wedding. Crews were readying four tents that will cover more than an acre for the dinner for 300 guests. Fireworks are also part of the festivities.

Walk this way

Todd English was spied at Tommy Lee's new Hollywood hot spot, Rokbar, the other night. The fire marshal showed up later and the party was moved out to the sidewalk. Deciding it was too soon to call it a night, English took the rest of the crew over to the renovated Roosevelt Hotel and partied poolside at the Tropicana Bar alongside Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, and Mischa Barton.. . . Boston's City Council yesterday named July 7 Donna Summer Day. When we called Councilor Charles Yancey's office to ask about the delay, he let us know that the council debated heavier issues as well. As for Donna Summer? She's a local gal and the council ''wanted to make sure she felt welcome."

Around town

Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi returned to Massachusetts General Hospital late last week to thank the staff who cared for him after a stroke.
