'Hollaback' to hit a million

Gwen Stefani's ''Hollaback Girl" has been a hit not only on the radio but also in cyberspace, where it's poised to become the first song to register 1 million legal downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The No Doubt singer will be recognized for that numerical milestone with a certification that will be presented to her when she performs Oct. 21 at the Hollywood Bowl, her manager said. ''Hollaback Girl" has been downloaded more than 980,000 times and continues to generate about 14,000 downloads a week, a Nielsen SoundScan spokeswoman said.

A super day for Cage

Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage is a new father. His wife, Alice Kim Cage, gave birth yesterday to a boy, Kal-el Coppola Cage, in New York City, said Cage's Los Angeles-based publicist. No other details were available. (Cage, 41, is a nephew of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola; Kal-el is Superman's name on Krypton.) The couple married in July 2004. It was the third marriage for Cage and the first for his new wife, who was 20 when they were wed. They met when Cage visited a Los Angeles restaurant where she was working as a waitress.

Yankee goes on air

The reggaeton star Daddy Yankee has signed a deal to host a weekly radio show that will be syndicated by ABC Radio Networks. The two-hour show is expected to run Saturday evenings beginning this fall. ABC says it will market the show to the new Latin Rhythmic format that has flourished this year. It could also be picked up by mainstream Top 40 stations.
