Radiohead dresses up 'Nude'

Radiohead has revived a song written in the ''OK Computer" era as it continues to record material for its new album, which is expected for a summer release. According to a post from frontman Thom Yorke (inset) on the group's official website, the track ''Nude," which has also been known as ''Big Ideas (Don't Get Any)," will feature accompaniment by a string quartet. ''It sounds beautiful, as far as I can tell," he said. Yorke played an acoustic version of ''Nude" at a January 1998 show in Tokyo, while the full band premiered it during an April 1998 show in Dallas. It also appears on the Radiohead concert film ''Meeting People Is Easy."

Metallica recruits Rubin
Metallica has drafted Rick Rubin to produce its next studio album. Work is underway at the band's California headquarters. In a post on its official website, the band confirms that Rubin ''has been coming by the studio every now and again to listen to some of our new stuff and throw his two/three cents in." ''We have been jamming, writing, just plain messing around and having fun in the studio for the last few weeks," the post continues. Photos show band members with instruments in hand, as well as drummer Lars Ulrich with a lyric sheet held just far enough from the camera so as to not reveal key details. There's no timetable yet for the release of the as-yet-untitled album.

'Psych' adds another unlikely detective
USA Network has found a companion for its hit dramedy ''Monk." The cable network has picked up ''Psych," ordering 11 episodes of the one-hour dramedy for a total of 13 hours, including the two-hour pilot. Like ''Monk," ''Psych" features an unlikely detective. The series centers on Shawn Spencer (played by James Roday), an amateur sleuth who cons the police into believing that he has psychic powers that help him solve crimes. With the reluctant assistance of his best friend (Dulé Hill), he has no choice but to begin cracking complicated cases. ''Psych" is tentatively slated to premiere July 7 in ''Monk's" 10 p.m. Friday slot.
