Drunken Devil Anne Hathaway

(BANG) - Anne Hathaway loved shooting 'The Devil Wears Prada' - because she would get drunk on the set.

The 23-year-old actress - who played the fashion assistant of a demanding fashion editor, portrayed by Meryl Streep - says she had a great time filming in Paris, because the producers would ply her with alcohol.

She said: "It was great! They served wine with meals - you'd never get that on an American set. Having a glass at midday really took the edge off."

The actress - who made her screen debut opposite Julie Andrews in 'Princess Diaries' - also says starring in the hit film forced her to question her stereotypes about the fashion world.

She said: "I found it superficial at the beginning.

"I thought fashion was frivolous but now I find it incredibly creative. The film totally changed my feelings towards fashion."
