Sticks and stones for Moss

Pats partisans are pleased, but Randy Moss is getting a raft of abuse from fans of the Oakland Raiders. Moss's MySpace page is suddenly full of invective from fans who feel betrayed by the receiver. Most of the posts are unprintable, but they essentially accuse the controversial wideout of swapping his street cred for a shot at Super Bowl bling. "(Expletive) you Randy Moss," fumes one resentful Raiders fan. "You fit perfect with the NE (expletive)!!!!" (On his MySpace page, which wasn't updated yesterday, Moss calls Oakland "the greatest place for me and a dream come true," adding that he's "extremely excited and proud to be part of such a great organization.") But it seems Moss hasn't alienated all 30,247 of his MySpace "friends." An admirer named yung Ca$h writes "well looks like u gotta change ur background now u a patriot boy . . . make sure u shout me out when u accepting da mvp" at "da super bowl."

Hasselbecks expecting second child

Elisabeth Hasselbeck's having another baby. The BC alum and co host of "The View" said yesterday that she and her husband, NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, are expecting a second child. The couple have a 2-year-old daughter, Grace. "When you said you had an announcement, my heart sank!" joked Barbara Walters, a reference to co host Rosie O'Donnell's statement last week that she's leaving the show. The baby is due in November.

Between games, Papi makes the circuit

Jack and Suzy Welch had a working lunch yesterday at The Federalist. Seems Suzy was busily editing her remarks for last night's Boston Health Care for the Homeless fund - raiser. On the guest list were cohosts Jim and Kim Pallotta, Red Sox slugger David Ortiz and his wife, Tiffany, Sox honcho Larry Lucchino and his wife, Stacey, and Harvard Pilgrim's Charlie Baker. . . . Speaking of Ortiz, Big Papi was also expected at last night's screening of "Rumbo a Las Grandes Ligas" at the Somerville Theatre. The baseball flick follows Ortiz from the ball fields of the Dominican Republic to Fenway Park. The festival continues tonight with the world premiere of Providence filmmaker Michael Corrente's "Brooklyn Rules."

A rough show for JoJo

It's not easy being a teen sensation. Just ask Joanna "JoJo" Levesque. The fresh-faced lass from Foxborough experienced serious technical difficulties at the Dogwood Festival in Fayetteville, N.C., over the weekend, and posted an apology on her MySpace page yesterday. "The sound company that was hired for my show did not deliver what they promised," the 16-year-old singer wrote, "which resulted in my show being delayed 30 minutes, my microphone going out twice, speakers going out. . . . What doesn't break you makes you stronger!!!" Still, it wasn't all bad: JoJo said she was given the key to the city. "Does that mean I can get in to all your houses?" wrote JoJo, signing off with a smiley face.

Pulitzer-winning playwright Paula Vogel was among the scribes recognized at Sunday night's Literary Lights dinner to benefit the Boston Public Library. As is tradition, Vogel's presentation was given by a former "literary light," playwright Israel Horovitz, founding artistic director of the Gloucester Stage Company. Also participating in the evening were fellow Pulitzer winner Franz Wright, "Wicked" author Gregory Maguire, and humorist Roy Blount Jr.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was at Hasbro's headquarters in Pawtucket, R.I., yesterday, where the Super Bowl MVP tossed around the company's new Nerf Peyton Manning Pro Grip Football . . . Celebrity chef Todd English chatted up Fox 25 Morning Show host Kim Carrigan yesterday, telling her all about this year's Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer initiative. The fund-raiser is honoring English's late sister, Wendy, who was 42 when she died of breast cancer last year.

Former "Seinfeld" buddy Jason Alexander returned to Boston to help his alma mater, Boston University, at the Huntington Theatre Company's Spotlight Spectacular! last night . Joining Alexander at the event were Victor Garber and his "Present Laughter" costar Brooks Ashmanskas , as well as Huntington veteran Michael T. Weiss, who will always be "The Pretender" to us. . . . Emerson College senior Andrew Rostan has been enjoying some success on "Jeopardy!" The film major has already chalked up two wins.. . . Pats player Ty Warren and "Biggest Loser" also-ran Andrea Baptiste teamed up yesterday to talk to kids at the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School in Dorchester about the benefits of exercise.
