De Matteo family celebrate 'Wedding'

The final weekend of "Our Son's Wedding" promises to be a family affair. Donna de Matteo, the scribe of the Gloucester Stage Company show, says virtually every member of her family, including famous daughter Drea, will be in town this weekend. "My mother and brother, my two sons and their wives, my grandchildren, my daughter, her boyfriend, and a dog," de Matteo said with a chuckle yesterday. Drea -- a.k.a. Adriana on "The Sopranos" -- was actually in town last weekend, too, but only briefly. Drea picked up her mom and took her to Gilford, N.H., to see boyfriend Shooter Jennings perform with Willie Nelson. "Shooter was quite wonderful, in very good form," said Donna, who admitted she's feeling a little anxious about her pregnant daughter these days. "Not about her career -- she was on the greatest show that ever was," said de Matteo. "Drea's job now is to withstand these nine months, and have a beautiful baby girl." But as she waits for the baby, Drea's staying busy. Monday, she and her boyfriend were back in New York for the premiere of Drea's new movie "Broken English."

All in the family
It seems Augusten Burroughs's brother also has a facility with words. Less than five months after inking a lucrative deal with Crown Publishing, John Robison's memoir, "Look Me in the Eye: My Life With Asperger's," already has landed on our desk. About growing up with a type of autism, Robison's book doesn't fixate on his strange family the same way his brother's bestseller "Running With Scissors" did. (Burroughs, by the way, who lives next door to his older brother in Amherst, writes the forward to the new book.) So how'd Robison finish so fast? "I didn't have a book proposal," he says. "I had a book." The memoir will be released this fall.

Smashing time for mayor and friends
Hizzoner Tom Menino will never be mistaken for Pete Townshend. Or will he? Believe it or not, the mayor's among several muckety-mucks who'll be smashing guitars July 2 to celebrate the opening of the new Hard Rock Cafe Boston at Faneuil Hall. Others enlisted to obliterate a stringed instrument include Boston's Barry Goudreau, bluesman James Montgomery, rock band Damone, former New Kid Jordan Knight, members of Blue Man Group, and Bruins player Phil Kessel. In all, 71 guitars will be smashed, commemorating 1971, the year Hard Rock International was founded.

Paw prints for all at Copley Plaza
Catie Copley, the Fairmont Copley Plaza's pooch in residence, was the center of attention at a book signing yesterday at the hotel. Why? The black Lab has published a book, "Catie Copley," about her adventures at the posh Plaza. Joining the canine was the book's author, Deborah Kovacs.

Sox exec scores big with townhouse sale
Red Sox vice chairman Phillip H. Morse is decamping from the Hingham townhouse that he and his wife, Susan, bought a couple of years ago. The couple recently sold the two-bedroom, 2.5 bath pad at the Black Rock golf course for $1.82 million. Not far from Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield's place, the 2,340-square-foot townhouse was new when the Morses bought it in 2005 for $1.72 million. An entrepreneur who's founded several companies, Morse made local headlines a few years ago when he bid $100,000 during a Jimmy Fund auction for a Red Sox license plate with No. 9 for Ted Williams on it.

Process to determine Smith's will begins
Former foes Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern sat side-by-side in a courtroom yesterday as a commissioner admitted Anna Nicole Smith's will to probate and ordered that Birkhead, father of the late model's daughter, would be guardian of the estate while Stern serves as executor of her will. The step begins a process in which Smith's assets will be identified and the court will determine how they should be distributed. The will left the entirety of her estimated $710,000 in assets to her now-deceased son. Smith gave birth to daughter Dannielynn in September, a few days before the death of son Daniel, 20, in the Bahamas. In February, Smith died at age 39. The baby could inherit millions from the estate of Smith's late husband, Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. . . . Meanwhile, Larry Seidlin, the wisecracking judge who presided in the dispute over Smith's remains and was lampooned for his sobbing announcement of the verdict, will resign next month, a spokesman said yesterday. Seidlin gave no specifics on his plans after his July 31 resignation, though rumors have swirled that he was considering a deal for a TV show. (AP)

'Waitress' actress delivers a boy
Keri Russell is a mom. The 31-year-old actress welcomed her first child, a boy named River Russell Deary, on June 9 in New York, her publicist said yesterday. Russell married Shane Deary, a contractor, in Manhattan on Valentine's Day. Russell, who stars as a woman grappling with an unexpected pregnancy in the independent romantic comedy "Waitress," portrayed college student Felicity Porter in the TV series "Felicity" for four years. No Britney billboards
Radio station billboards in Florida that featured unflattering photos of a bald, scowling Britney Spears have been taken down after the pop star's attorneys threatened legal action. In a letter to Clear Channel Communications, Spears's attorneys accused the company of "offensive, unauthorized commercial exploitation" of the 25-year-old singer, and demanded that the three billboards in the Tampa area be removed. A glam gig for Gisele
Looking a little too severe for our tastes, Gisele Bundchen graces the cover of the new issue of W Magazine, which is out Friday. Unfortunately, the Brazilian-born supermodel, who's currently dating Pats QB Tom Brady, isn't interviewed in the fashion mag's July issue. Yesterday, meanwhile, the well-traveled glamour girl was in the UK, where the luxury Swiss watch brand Ebel was announced as the official "timing partner" for English soccer club Arsenal.
