Delp tribute hits some snags

We have more than a feeling that the tribute to Brad Delp is in doubt. Tickets for the Aug. 19 show still aren't on sale, and the promoter, Live Nation, has given no indication when they might be. What's the problem? Word is that the parties involved in planning the show honoring the late lead singer of Boston can't agree on where the money should go. Originally, Live Nation said proceeds from the show at the Bank of America Pavilion would benefit the Brad Delp Foundation, but guitarist Tom Scholz has questioned whether such a foundation actually exists and what its mission is. We're told he's requested more information from Delp's ex-wife, Micki, before signing on the dotted line. During his lifetime, Delp, who committed suicide in March, gave to many of the same causes supported by Scholz, including the Sierra Club and PETA. If the concert does take place, it's still not clear whether the band's original members -- Scholz, Sib Hashian, Barry Goudreau, and Fran Sheehan -- will share the stage or for how many songs. Among those lending their pipes to the proceedings will be Starship's Mickey Thomas, Sammy Hagar, and Stryper's Michael Sweet, who confirms his participation on his website.

Adams ambles in, rambles on

Before his sold-out show at the Somerville Theatre last night, Ryan Adams stopped by WBOS to play a few songs. The performance was fine, but the singer's between-tune patter was puzzling. Adams, who told The New York Times he recently kicked a longstanding drug-and-alcohol problem, rambled about Husker Du's Bob Mould, actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, Fergie, and Paris Hilton, whom he called "a young lady" undeserving of such intense media scrutiny. "If anybody had even a fraction of the attention of the entire world focused on their mistakes, they'd freak out," said Adams, who once dated Hilton's Hollywood party pal Lindsay Lohan. If anyone had reason to be antsy, it was actually Adams's bandmates, who said they were nearly killed yesterday when their taxi was struck by another taxi. "It was a traffic anomaly," said Adams. Easy for him to say.

She plans for a smashing time

Add Galway's Rita Gilligan to the list of VIPs attending Monday's opening of the new Hard Rock Cafe at Faneuil Hall. The Gaelic charmer's been working at the original Hard Rock Cafe in London since the doors opened in 1971. "Paul McCartney, Mick (Jagger), Freddie Mercury, they all came in," Gilligan (above with McCartney) told us this week. "It was great for lads -- they'd have a burger, a beer, and a drag of a fag." Gilligan said she's looking forward to christening the new club by smashing a guitar. "It'll be good fun," she said.

On her game

Reality TV vixen Trishelle Cannatella was well behaved during a paid appearance at McFadden's Saloon the other night. Trishelle (above, with bartender/manager Joe Turley), has managed to stretch her 15 minutes of fame and is currently appearing on "Reunited: The Real World Vegas."

Rhode Island transformers

Since Rhode Island-based Hasbro makes the toy robots, Providence got to host a red-carpet premiere of the new "Transformers" movie Thursday. The crowd sipped wine, chowed spring rolls, and rubbed shoulders with two of the film's stars, Tyrese Gibson (left) and Rachael Taylor, at Providence Place. Gibson, who plays an Air Force sergeant in Michael Bay's latest action flick, said he loves visiting the Ocean State. "Every time I come to Rhode Island, it's nothing but love, y'all," he said.

Rockers Lee, Tweedy have gourmet tastes

Since when did rockers develop such sophisticated palates? While in town to perform at the TD Banknorth Garden this week, Rush singer Geddy Lee wandered into Bin 26 Enoteca, the Beacon Hill bistro boasting one of the city's best wine lists. We don't know what Lee drank, but owner Babak Bina says he sure knows his stuff. . . . And before his band's show at the Bank of America Pavilion, Wilco singer Jeff Tweedy dined at chef Tony Maws's fine French restaurant Craigie Street Bistrot. . . . Newton native Seth Mnookin, author of the Red Sox-related "Feeding the Monster," is getting hitched to Sara James, an editor at Men's Vogue. The gadflys at Gawker report that the happy couple have registered mostly for cookware at Macy's, Crate and Barrel, and Williams-Sonoma.

Two die after Stones concert

Two workers dismantling a Rolling Stones stage at a stadium in Madrid fell to their deaths from a metal scaffold yesterday, officials said. Two other Spanish workers were injured in the accident at the Vicente Calderon stadium, one critically. Police said three of the workers fell about 30 feet from the scaffold, and landed on the fourth worker. The Rolling Stones, on the European leg of their "A Bigger Bang" world tour, performed in the Vicente Calderon soccer stadium in the Spanish capital Thursday night. They are due to play in the southern town of El Eijido this weekend. (AP)

Alleged attacker released from jail

A woman charged with assaulting and robbing Foxy Brown (inset) was released from jail after the rapper failed to appear before a grand jury to testify against her. Roshawn Anthony, 23, was released from Riker's Island on her own recognizance Thursday but still faces charges of robbery, assault , and grand larceny in the alleged attack last Saturday, according to a spokesman for the Brooklyn district attorney's office. She has denied the charges. Police say Anthony and three other people teamed up to rob Brown of a Louis Vuitton bag, $500 in cash , and credit cards in the East New York section of Brooklyn. (AP)

She doesn't use leather or fur in her designs. (AP)

Diana exhibit opens in England

An exhibit of photographs, film footage , and other memorabilia from the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, will go on display today at Kensington Palace where she lived. Called "Diana: A Princess Remembered," the exhibit is the largest collection of images of the princess to date, organizers said. It opens with a photograph of the princess as a toddler and follows her through her marriage to Prince Charles. Diana died in August 1997. The exhibit opens on the eve of what would have been the princess' 46th birthday. (AP)
