The early word on Ben Affleck 's directorial debut is good. "Gone Baby Gone," which premiered yesterday at the Deauville American Film Festival in France, gets a generally positive review from Variety. The trade says the somber pic "radiates a feel for Beantown's working-class Dorchester neighborhood," and is "thoughtfully lensed" by our boy Ben.
