Back behind the mikes

WEEI's morning sports chat duo Gerry Callahan and John Dennis will be back on the airwaves this morning and there will be an announcement about their future following their show, the station's spokesman George Regan confirmed yesterday. The Dennis and Callahan show has been off WEEI since early August because of a dispute over the duo's contract - which expired on Friday - with the Entercom station. (Callahan, a Boston Herald sports columnist, had been sidelined from his radio gig since May after undergoing throat surgery.) It had been speculated that Dennis and Callahan were moving to one of three Boston FM stations, but no deal was announced. Among those filling in from 6 to 10 a.m. weekdays were Bob Halloran, Steve DeOssie, Bob Neumeier, and Dan Patrick.

Gisele wears No. 12
Not only was Gisele Bundchen spied at the Meadowlands to cheer on her man, Tom Brady, but the supermodel was sporting a No. 12 jersey as the Patriots beat the New York Jets in yesterday's season opener. One Pats sighting we've come to expect during games on CBS was network biggie Les Moonves hanging out during the game with Bob Kraft.

It's a girl
Congrats to Pigalle's chef/owner Marc Orfaly and his wife and business partner Kerry Foley on the arrival of their daughter. The little one, who does not yet have a name, weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces when she arrived Saturday afternoon.

Gillette-aritaville
Jimmy Buffett played to 114,000 people over his two nights at Gillette Stadium this past week, but he's not sure if he'll return to Gillette or to his beloved Tweeter Center next year. "Let's get through this one first!" he said backstage at Gillette on Saturday, though he said he loved the Gillette experience. Saturday's show included the encore "Defying Gravity" (which Buffett dedicated to Luciano Pavarotti) and a guest appearance from Cape Verde singer Elo Ferrier. "I'm working on helping him to put out an album," Buffett told us. Buffett also said he has authored a new book called "Swine Not?" (a fable about a pet pig in Manhattan that will come out next spring.) He told us that he'll spend the next couple of days sailing around New England, per his custom after local shows.

Cook makes Connection
Dane Cook can't seem to stay away from the Comedy Connection, the Faneuil Hall Marketplace club that gave the Arlington native his start. The "Bachelor No. 2" star and his costar Kate Hudson went to the Connection on Saturday night to catch the evening's headliner Russell Peters's show. Club owner Bill Blumenreich tells us that Cook joined Peters on stage and hit the crowd with a barrage of one-liners. For her part, Hudson was spotted shopping earlier Saturday at Persona at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. And she was seen hanging out at the Fairmont Copley Plaza's Oak Room on Friday night after "Bachelor No. 2" finished a third day of filming at the hotel.
