Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was hailed as a Living Legend at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour ceremony last night.

The 63-year-old musician received the prestigious honour at the event, held at London's Landmark Hotel, after being voted for by readers of Classic Rock magazine.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler handed Page a vintage Gibson Les Paul guitar in recognition of his contribution to music.

Scott Rowley, editor of Classic Rock magazine, said: "From the 20 million attempts to get Led Zeppelin tickets for their London reunion concert to the new album from the Eagles going straight in at number one in the UK album charts this week, 2007 has proved that fashions can come and go, but rock music continues to move people."

Page is currently recovering from a broken finger which has forced Led Zeppelin's reunion concert at London's O2 arena to be pushed back by two weeks from November 26 to December 10.
